My views on the after-school tutorials

In this picture, we can see a mother taking her child to take a lot of after-school tutorials and there is a stack of money in her hand. The child seems very tired and depressed.

I feel very sorry for the kid in the picture.As we all know, nowadays in China, junior high school and senior high school students are facing a huge pressure. They are pushed too hard by their parents, by the society and by themselves to study. Many parents think that taking a lot of extra courses will help their kids’ marks, so they sign up as many after-school tutorials as possible for their kids.

In my opinion, it not a good idea to take so many after-school tutorials. I think the after-school tutorials is not necessary at all. You may argue that the after-school tutorials do help students get a better score in exam, and it’s an age of exam, which you can’t get a bright future if you are not good at exam. That’s true, but I think the key to a better score is not taking a lot of extra courses, we can learn how to answer the question simply by listening carefully on the class, asking our school teachers about it and check it out from a textbook. The extra courses is just a method to push you to learn the same thing you have learnt in your classroom again, what a waste of time!

So if you are the mom in that picture, quit the tutorials for your child, and teach him how to make his learning more efficient——just take full concentration on the class, ask teachers for help whenever you are confused and learn to consult the textbook or the encyclopedia or even the google. All this method will be more helpful than taking a useless after-school tutorials.
